Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Chuck Roast by letting it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Mix the Marinade in a medium bowl, whisking together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and chili flakes.
  3. Coat the Roast with the marinade, ensuring it's well-coated on all sides.
  4. Cook the Roast on low in a slow cooker for 6-8 hours or bake at 325°F (160°C) for 3-4 hours.
  5. Rest the Roast for about 15-20 minutes covered loosely with foil.
  6. Prepare the Sauce by heating the remaining cooking liquid in a saucepan.
  7. Thicken the Sauce by mixing cornstarch with water and stirring into the simmering liquid.
  8. Coat the Roast with the thickened glaze.
  9. Garnish and Serve with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
