  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust according to heat preference

  • 4 ounces deli-sliced salami or turkey/chicken for lighter option
  • 4 ounces deli-sliced ham
  • 4 ounces deli-sliced pepperoni optional
  • 4 ounces deli-sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces deli-sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Fresh Toppings
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, sliced or fresh bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives optional
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers, sliced or jalapeños for heat
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the Italian sub rolls in half, keeping the hinges intact, and arrange cut side up on a baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, melt unsalted butter and mix in garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush the seasoned butter onto the cut sides of each roll evenly.
  5. Layer the salami, ham, and pepperoni into the rolls.
  6. Add slices of mozzarella and provolone cheese over the meats, followed by a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Top with roasted red peppers, sliced black olives, banana peppers, and fresh basil leaves.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, watching for melted cheese and crispy bread.
  9. Cool for about a minute, then slice each sandwich into portions while still warm.
  10. Serve warm, optionally with crispy fries or a fresh salad.
