Step-by-Step Instructions for Cinnamon Apple Bread
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt until well combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together ½ cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar for about 3-4 minutes. Beat in 2 large eggs one at a time.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with ½ cup of milk until all ingredients are combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of diced large apples, ½ cup of light brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Toss well to coat.
- Pour half of the batter into the greased loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the apple mixture over the batter and swirl lightly. Repeat with remaining batter and apples.
- Mix together 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle over the final layer before baking.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking together 1 cup of confectioners' sugar with enough water until desired consistency. Drizzle over the cooled bread.
