  • 1/2 cup Raisins Optional.
For Moisture
  • 1/4 cup Apple Juice or Water

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash and dry the firm apples, then cut them in half vertically and remove the cores.
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  4. Place apple halves in a baking dish, filling with nuts and raisins if using.
  5. Spoon the topping mixture over each apple half generously.
  6. Pour apple juice or water into the dish around the apples.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
