  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Can be replaced with butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh garlic preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Flour Use gluten-free flour for GF option
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano Can substitute with Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper Adjust according to taste
  • 1 pinch Salt Adjust for low-sodium diets
  • 1 cup Half & Half Whole milk or heavy cream can also be used

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. In a medium skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes until shimmering.
  2. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for about 3 minutes, until fragrant and slightly golden.
  3. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Whisk for about 1 minute until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour in 1 cup of half & half while whisking continuously and stir for approximately 3 minutes until thickened.
  5. For a thicker sauce, mix an additional tablespoon of flour with a splash of milk and add it to your sauce, cooking for another minute.
  6. Taste your sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or stirring in ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
