  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80/20 blend recommended
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning or homemade mix
Shells
  • 8 pieces Corn Tortillas
For Frying
  • 1 cup Oil neutral oil like canola or vegetable
Toppings
  • 2 cups Lettuce chopped
  • 1 cup Tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese your favorite variety
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • to taste Hot Sauce for added heat

Method
 

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Prepare your toppings by chopping fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and any other desired toppings, setting aside in separate bowls.
  2. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, approximately 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and mix well, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. While the beef is cooking, heat about 1 inch of oil in a separate frying pan over medium-high heat. Carefully add the corn tortillas, frying them for about 30 seconds on each side until golden and crispy.
  4. Assemble your tacos by layering the crispy tortilla with the hot beef mixture, followed by shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and other toppings.
  5. Serve the tacos immediately for the best crunch and flavor.
