  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1.5 cups Warm Water 110°F (43°C)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Plain Yogurt or coconut yogurt for vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons Oil or Ghee

  • 4 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter or vegan butter
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Cilantro or Parsley for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine active dry yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir gently and allow to sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add activated yeast mixture, yogurt, and oil. Mix until shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Shape the kneaded dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the risen dough, divide it into 8 pieces, and roll each into an oval about 8 inches long.
  6. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each naan for about 1 minute until golden brown, flipping to cook both sides.
  7. Mix minced garlic with melted butter and brush generously onto each naan after cooking. Garnish with salt and herbs.
