Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Cherry Iced Tea
  1. Begin by washing and pitting the fresh cherries, cutting them in half to release their rich flavor. If desired, muddle a few cherries in your pitcher.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and steep 3-4 black tea bags for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. While the tea is steeping, add 2 cups of filtered water and the prepared cherries to another pot. Simmer for around 15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  4. Strain the cherry mixture into the brewed tea, pressing the cherries to extract juice. Sweeten with sugar or honey and lemon juice to taste. Stir well.
  5. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Serve over ice with cherry slices or lemon wedges.
