  • 2 cups Pretzels, crushed Use smaller, salted pretzels.
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 8 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Melted.
For the Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 8 oz Whipped Topping, thawed Cool Whip works best.
For the Jell-O Topping
  • 6 oz Strawberry Jell-O Package.
  • Boiling Water For dissolving Jell-O.
  • 1 lb Strawberries, sliced Fresh.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine a 6 oz package of Strawberry Jell-O with 2 cups of boiling water and stir until dissolved. Let cool for about 20 minutes.
  3. Melt 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter, stir in ¼ cup of sugar, then mix with 2 cups of crushed pretzels. Press into the bottom of a 9x13 baking pan.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool completely in the pan.
  5. Blend 8 oz of softened cream cheese with ½ cup of sugar until creamy. Fold in 8 oz of thawed whipped topping.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  7. Mix 1 lb of sliced strawberries with the cooled Jell-O mixture, then pour over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours until set.
