  • 1 large Onion chopped, yellow or white recommended
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 12 ounces Ale or non-alcoholic beer or extra beef broth
  • 4 cups Beef Broth homemade or store-bought
  • 1/4 cup Flour or cornstarch for gluten-free
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Herbs thyme, bay leaf
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cut the ribeye steak into bite-sized cubes, season with salt and pepper, and toss in flour.
  2. Heat oil in a large pot, add steak cubes, sear for 5-7 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.
  3. Lower heat, add chopped onions, sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the pot, cook for 5-6 minutes until they release moisture and begin to brown.
  5. Pour in the ale, scraping the pot to lift the fond. Then add beef broth, dried herbs, and the steak. Stir together.
  6. Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer uncovered for about 45 minutes.
  7. Taste and adjust seasonings with salt and pepper before serving.
