Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the shallot and garlic. Sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Pour in the white wine to deglaze the pot, scraping up bits stuck to the bottom. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, reducing by half.
  3. Pour in the fish stock, stirring well to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, about 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream along with thyme and bay leaf. Allow to simmer for another 10 minutes.
  5. Gently fold in the crab meat and shrimp. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until shrimp are just opaque.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper. Adjust as needed and stir well.
  7. Ladle into warm bowls, garnish with fresh herbs or paprika, and serve hot.
