  2. Combine cocoa powder, coffee, whiskey, and butter in a saucepan over low heat; stir until smooth, 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. In a small bowl, coat dark chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder to prevent sinking.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, pepper, and cloves.
  5. Blend eggs and vanilla into the cooled chocolate mixture, then fold in the flour mixture and chocolate chips.
