Banana Bread Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash 3-4 ripe bananas until smooth, then mix in ¾ cup of sugar, ½ cup of melted butter, and 2 beaten eggs until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- If desired, gently fold in ½ cup of chopped nuts for added texture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optionally, brush the top with melted butter or sprinkle cinnamon before serving.
