Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix in half of the flour mixture and half a cup of milk, then fold in the remaining flour and milk.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon, tossing to coat.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, layer with half of the apple mixture, and swirl. Repeat.
  8. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top before baking.
  9. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Whisk together confectioners' sugar and water for the glaze; drizzle over the cooled bread.
