Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in half of the flour mixture and half a cup of milk, then fold in the remaining flour and milk.
- In a separate bowl, combine the apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon, tossing to coat.
- Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, layer with half of the apple mixture, and swirl. Repeat.
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top before baking.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Whisk together confectioners' sugar and water for the glaze; drizzle over the cooled bread.
