- Prepare Lavender Sugar: Pulse dried culinary lavender in a food processor until fine, then mix with granulated sugar, setting aside a tablespoon for frosting.
- Preheat Oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground Earl Grey tea.
- Cream Butter & Sugar: Combine softened butter with lavender sugar, mixing until light and fluffy.
- Add Egg & Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla bean paste until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just incorporated.
- Form Cookies: Scoop dough into balls and roll in reserved lavender sugar, then place on baking sheets.
- Bake: Bake for 9-10 minutes until edges are golden brown. Allow them to cool on the sheets for a few minutes.
- Make Frosting: Blend softened cream cheese and unsalted butter until fluffy, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla paste until smooth.
