- Add the uncooked long-grain rice, stirring to coat and toast for about 2–3 minutes.
- Pour in chicken broth, barbecue sauce, and soy sauce if using, stirring until combined.
- Return the seared sausage to the skillet, mix well, and let it simmer covered for 18–20 minutes.
