  • 1 pound Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts or tofu for a vegetarian option
  • Salt to taste

  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika can use regular paprika with liquid smoke
For the Pasta
  • 8 ounces Penne Pasta can substitute with fusilli or rigatoni
  • 2 cups Water or Chicken Broth chicken broth adds more flavor
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce choose a well-balanced variety
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or agave syrup for vegan option
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce vegan replacements available
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder fresh garlic can also be used
To Finish
  • Optional Garnish Freshly chopped parsley or green onions

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add 1 pound of diced boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Season with salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika. Sear for 5-6 minutes until golden brown, then remove from skillet.
  3. Pour in 2 cups of water or chicken broth, scraping up caramelized bits. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Stir in 8 ounces of uncooked penne pasta, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until al dente.
  5. Add 1 cup of BBQ sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Stir well to combine.
  6. Return the seared chicken to the skillet, toss with the pasta mixture, and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve hot and garnish with optional freshly chopped parsley or green onions.
