Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Rinse the strawberries, onion, and jalapenos under cold water. Puree in a food processor until smooth.
  2. In a large pot, combine the pureed mixture with sugar, vinegar, bourbon, salt, and pepper. Stir thoroughly.
  3. Bring the mixture to a slight boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Sterilize canning jars and lids in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  5. Ladle hot sauce into jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace.
  6. Wipe jar rims with a clean cloth, place lids on top, and screw metal bands until fingertip-tight.
  7. Process jars in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
  8. Cool jars undisturbed for 24 hours.
