The flight hours that gave me more confidence in the air also distanced me from the usual routine on the ground.
And here lies the duality: fulfilling one dream can mean giving up others.
Today, sitting in my seat, with my spotless uniform and the familiar scent of the cockpit, I feel joy for the path I have traveled.
But I also feel the void of not having a child’s laughter or a partner’s hand beside me to celebrate this date.
It is not regret, but the awareness that decisions carry weight and come with a price.
That is why I write and share this story. Because, despite being physically alone, I know I am not alone.
When I land and see messages from strangers inspired by my story, when I receive love from distant friends or support from other women facing similar challenges, my heart fills with warmth.
Having your blessings and your words of encouragement reminds me that each of us builds our own path, and that love and connection can spring from unexpected places.
